Goal 2: Reduce Human Disease

Cardiovascular field has been seeking novel risk factors which are 1) independently associated with clinical outcomes beyond and over traditional risk factors, and 2) powerful in identifying high risk individuals who are classified as intermediate risk by traditional model, e.g., Framingham Risk Score. Seeking for new biomarkers that meet these requirement and are much less expensive than CAC is important to reduce CVD burden in the US.
